The satirical universe of Robert Storm Petersen (1882-1949) is known in particular from his series of drawings and text in newspapers such as Ekstra Bladet and the daily newspaper B.T., but he also painted watercolours and oil paintings, and drew many posters throughout his career. In the watercolour The moon in the street light from 1928, which this poster is reproduced after, one of Storm P.'s recurring characters, the vagabond, appears in a humorous scene. He fishes with his stick after the moon in the pond, unaware that it is just a mirror.
