Bo Bonfils
Bo Bonfils (b. 1941) is educated at the Copenhagen Arts and Crafts School's advertising department in the years 1958-1961. As a designer, however, he is self-taught. He started his own business in 1960, where he, among others, solved tasks for Irma, Ole Palsby, Rosendahl, LO, Eva Trio, Wonderful Copenhagen, Bing & Grondahl, Tv2 Advertising, Louisiana and Georg Jensen. In addition, he has worked at Politiken as a magazine artist, and is still known and loved for his extensive, varying design of everything from posters, matchboxes, watches and cutlery.
Sculptural details
Bo Bonfils's poster design often appears with a distinctive, stringent character. These are posters who know what they want to say and which convey the message through an aesthetic of details that are often elevated to sculptures. For example, classic design objects are seen as purely or simply so that they achieve incredible lightness and elegance reflected in the poster design itself.
