"Lola" is a poster with one of Storm P's many amazing motifs. Lola with the undertitle "Cirque Médrano" is from 1912 and is one of the first oil paintings of Storm P with a circus motif. Cirque Médrano was the name of a famous Circus in the early 1900s of Paris. The inspiration for paiting the girl is considered to be a german singer, Lola Herbet, who performed on Scala in the summer of 1912.

The satirical universe of Robert Storm Petersen (1882-1949) is known in particular from his series of drawings and text in newspapers such as Ekstra Bladet and the daily newspaper B.T., but he also painted watercolors and oil paintings, and drew many posters throughout his career. 
The painting Lola with the subtitle Cirque Médrano from approx. 1912, after which this poster is reproduced, is one of Storm P.'s first paintings with motifs taken from the circus world - a theme he often returned to. 
Cirque Médrano was a famous circus in Paris, and the girl was supposed to be the German singer Lola Herbert, who performed at Scala in 1912.
