Hans Bendix
Hans Bendix (1898-1984) was a Danish artist who trained as a painter in Paris, Copenhagen and London. In the years 1922-50, he was associated as a magazine designer for the Social Democrat, where he unfolded his satirical line, reportage drawings and portraits. In addition, he drew to Blæksprutten, Kritisk Revy and later became editor of the anti-Nazi journals Aandehullet and Kulturkampen.

The moment, the woman and the sensitivity
His greatest ability was to encapsulate the fleeting moment and the essence of the person. The favorite motif was the young woman, whom is also to be seen on the poster Frederiksberg Swimming Hall (1934). Here the naked woman's body is seen with a red bathing cap and white tiles as a marker of the swimming pool's surroundings. The style is sensitive, characterized by a quiet calm and the sketch's fast but real-life streak.
