The Zoo in Copenhagen has a special tradition for posters. The garden was founded in 1859, and the oldest preserved poster in the Zoological Garden collection dates from 1874.
However, it was not until 1900 that large-scale posters by prominent posters of the time began to be used as an effective visual communication tool to draw attention to the garden's newcomer animals and attractions.
